John 3:7 – Marvel not that I said to you, Y’all must be born again.
Ok that’s the southern twist on the translation, but that’s how it reads.
Jesus is speaking to one of the premier teachers of the Israelites, and Nicodemus couldn’t understand. He was thinking on the earthly, temporal plane – but God was always more interested in the eternal.
When Jesus says, “Marvel not,” He is saying something like, “why are you astonished that I am saying You all must be born again?”
Jesus is amazed Himself and says to Nicodemus, you are the teacher of Israel and you do not understand these things?!?
So, my friends, don’t ever think that knowledge alone, or a competency in knowing Scripture automatically qualifies you for Heaven, cause it don’t!
Listen carefully and think out of the box when it comes to God and His word.
Every single member of Gods family has to have a Heavenly birth. It is so very simple!
